Area Playoff Results 2022

Great week of games. A few laughers, but several close ones at the end and a few comebacks to boot. We'll see how things tighten up further in Round 2.

This Week:

Dallas Christian over Colleyville Covenant Christian (66-6) -- Correct
--Dominant performance for the Chargers as they raced out early and ended this one quickly. A district rematch awaits in the Regional round.

Fort Worth Lake Country Christian over Bullard Brook Hill (20-42) -- Wrong
--Guard opened up the lead and some late points made it look a bit closer. Brook Hill will be happy to see a rematch with DC on a neutral field.

Lubbock Trinity Christian over McKinney Christian (42-0) -- Correct
--Lions continue to march toward a showdown with DC with both teams looking to get back in the title game after being there a year ago.

Dallas Covenant over Arlington Grace Prep (24-34) -- Wrong
--Knights best season comes to an end with a recovering Grace Prep squad finding its form. Lions had the best result against Lubbock Trinity in the regular season of district opponents and they'll try to turn the tables on a neutral field.

League City Bay Area Christian over Schertz St. John Paul II (35-14) -- Correct
--Broncos look very good at home in Round 1. Should be a good defensive game with Holy Cross in the Regional.

Magnolia Legacy Prep over Boerne Geneva (14-49) -- Wrong
--Well this look for an upset did not pan out. Eagles very impressive to earn their shot at Cypress Christian.

Midland Christian over Tyler Grace Community (37-7) -- Correct
--A very game performance by the Cougars, but really a tough break in the 3-way tie for Grace. Mustangs will be tough to eliminate in these playoffs, as they are every year. They were in the Division I final just last season.

Dallas Bishop Dunne over Fort Worth Christian (40-41) -- Wrong
--I had this game pegged as the right type of game. Cardinals with a stunning 20 point road comeback to eliminate District 2 from the playoffs in Round 1. The District 1 invitational tournament will decide the North region of Division II.

Brownsville St. Joseph over The Woodlands Christian (21-28) -- Wrong
--Warriors overcome the road trip and win a low scoring battle. Big 2nd half defensive effort for TWCA and a valiant comeback effort by the Bloodhounds. Rematch with Second Baptist awaits for the Warriors.
