Area Playoff Results 2023

Always fun to get the playoffs underway. A few good ones and a couple of road winners to surprise us as always. Particularly notable to see Shiner St. Paul out in Round 1. See you next week for the Elite 8.

This Week:

Dallas Christian over Fort Worth Lake Country Christian (63-7) -- Correct
--Chargers dominate this one from an opening kickoff returned for a touchdown. A Dallas Covenant rematch will be a bit tougher next week, but still heavily favored. Right now it seems to be a march to the same Final 4 in Division III as we saw last season.

Colleyville Covenant Christian over Dallas The Covenant (28-31) -- Wrong
--Knights get the Cougars for the 2nd time this year. A 2nd shot at DC next week awaits as the prize.

Arlington Grace Prep over Bullard Brook Hill (37-13) -- Correct
--Another disappointing showing for the Guard at home. Road playoff games have been better for Brook Hill as of late. Lions get a chance to turn around a 1 point loss to Lubbock Trinity from the regular season.

League City Bay Area Christian over Schertz John Paul II (64-46) -- Correct
--All of the points in this one. Broncos will try to topple a very good Holy Cross squad in the Regional.

Austin Brentwood Christian over Boerne Geneva (14-31) -- Wrong
--I found one road upset, but wiffed on this one. Eagles have the tall task of Cypress Christian in Round 2.

Tomball Concordia Lutheran over Fort Worth Nolan (57-33) -- Correct
--Vikings offense showed potential all year and did run out a few points this week. Tough one for the Crusaders in Round 2 at Parish Episcopal.

Dallas Bishop Lynch over San Antonio Central Catholic (17-13) -- Correct
--Friars have a tough task at St. Thomas this week, but always great to get a playoff win.

Tyler Grace Community over Midland Christian (33-28) -- Correct
--Cougars score in the final minute to reach the regional round for the first time since 2016.

Frisco Legacy Christian over Fort Worth Southwest Christian (31-0) -- Correct
--Legacy's defense has big test with All Saints, should be a fun Round 2 clash.
